I thought I would do a post about the products I use at night as I’ve noticed I do the same little routine every night and have been doing this for a while now.
The routine is completely different from a year ago when I would have used 2 baby wipes to take off my make up and then slap on a bit of body butter on my legs
This may seem excessive to some people but it works for me and I have reasons for each step.. so it makes sense in my head!
1st Step – Liz Earle Clense and Polish/Cetaphil
For ages I used Cetaphil to take of my makeup and I still absolutely love it. But since getting the Liz Earle Clense and Polish I’m completely converted and I really enjoy taking my make up off. I love the fact the muslin cloth gently exfoliates the skin too. Sometimes if I feel like a good old pamper I will also use a bit of Cetaphil after as I love how cooling it is on my skin or if I don’t get in until late I will use Cetaphil to quickly take off my make up
2nd Step – Olay Beauty Fluid/Garnier Ultra Lift
After taking off all of my makeup I always moisturise. I used to use the Simple Light moisturiser, but I’ve found the Olay Beauty Fluid to be much creamier and it feels so nice on my skin. When I wake up my skin doesn’t feel dry at all and I also use this moisturiser as a base for my makeup. I also use the Garnier Ultra Lift under my eyes and this helps keep them moisturised and I put on a generous layer to sink in over night. I’ve noticed my skin has looked so much better since I started using this combo
3rd Step – Dovobet
Since a kid I’ve suffered from Psoriasis and over the years I've found Dovobet to be the most effective thing for getting rid of any patches I have. Having a good routine is vital for me as this cream really does work quickly and if I do put it on every night the little patches go within about 1-2 weeks so its helped me having a routine as it was easy to include this in as its only a little step to include
4th Step – Bio Oil
Like most women I know I have stretch marks and I’ve recently started using Bio Oil of an evening. I was using various Palmers Cocoa Butter creams which were also really good I know you are supposed to use this twice a day but I don’t really like the smell so I just put it on in the evening instead. I’ve heard this is great to use on your face, but again I don’t really like the smell so I don’t think I’ll be doing that any time soon!!
5th Step – Body Shop Beautifying Oils/Body Moisturiser/Body Mists
Next to combat the smell of the Bio Oil, I will apply a body butter/moisturiser or one of The Body Shop Beautifying Oils to my arms and legs (Satsuma is always a winner!!). Sometimes if I feel like I can still really smell the bio oil I will use a body spray (complimenting the moisturiser of course!) and this usually helps get rid of the bio smell. I usually put on a generous amount of moisturiser so it can really sink in overnight and make my skin feel nice and moisturised
6th Step – Lip Balm
Like with moisturisers I also like to put a generous amount of lip balm on at night so my lips are moisturised. Obviously they very rarely last until the morning but I cant stand not having lip balm on.
7th Step – Hand Cream (Winter Only)
I only really do this in the winter if my hands feel really dry, but I love applying the Betty Hula moisturisers at night as the smell is gorgeous and my hands don’t feel dry at all
So that’s my little nightly routine.. it doesn’t actually take me that long maybe 10 minutes max, but I love routine anyway so this is great for me.. and I wake up feeling nice for the day ahead which is always good
Do you have products you use religiously every night?
